If prompted, enter your Admin Password and allow Windows to find and fix the problem on your computer. Right-click on the Speaker Icon in the Taskbar and select Troubleshoot Sound Problems option. On Device Manager screen, expand Audio Inputs and outputs entry, right-click on Microphone and select Enable Device option. Right-click on the Start button and click on Device Manager. If the Microphone is working, you will see the bar moving under Test Your Microphone section. To confirm, go back to Sound Settings page and speak into your Microphone. This allows your computer to use Microphone as a recording device by Apps. Click on the disabled Microphone and click on Enable.
On the next screen, you should see your Microphone listed as Disabled under ‘Input Devices’ section. If your Microsoft is not listed, click on Manage Sound Devices option. On the next screen, scroll down in the right-pane to Input section and make sure your Microphone is listed under “Choose your Input Device” section.
